The other day my hinge broke on my laptop which was bad, but not that bad.  At least that is what I thought until my screen started acting weird than flickered like crazy.  Eventually screen went black.   With some help  I managed to get my laptop apart then we noticed there was practically no protection on the screen cable.  From opening and closing the lid, the hinge bracket actually cut quite a few of the screen wires.   I'm going to order a new cable and try to install this.  

I am still going to finish some of my owed work, but I'm very limited at the moment.   ^^;

You could re-splice the wires together, or you could connect your laptop to an external monitor/TV so you can use it in the meantime.

I've had this happen several times before. ^^;
